AIDP, Inc. has entered a distribution agreement with Cargill, Inc. for the U.S. dietary supplement market for EpiCor, a postbiotic ingredient shown to support measures of immune and gut health.

Derived from a proprietary whole-food fermentate of baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), EpiCor is supported by a robust body of scientific research demonstrating its ability to help maintain healthy immune function and promote gut health. The ingredient is featured in a wide range of dietary supplement products and has been shown to support the mucosal barrier by increasing levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA), an important antibody involved in mucosal immune defense.

“EpiCor is an exciting addition to AIDP’s extensive portfolio of digestive and immune health ingredients,” said Mark Thurston, president of AIDP. “As consumers become increasingly aware of the important connection between gut health and immune function, demand continues to grow for clinically supported solutions that address both areas. We see significant opportunities for EpiCor within our customer base and look forward to expanding its reach in the marketplace.”

Max Hintz, nutritional product line director at Cargill said, “We are excited to establish a distribution relationship with AIDP for EpiCor Postbiotic in the U.S. dietary supplement market. By combining EpiCor’s strong foundation in science with AIDP’s established relationships and expertise in the dietary supplement channel, we believe this relationship will make it easier to connect more customers with EpiCor and provide the commercial support they need to bring differentiated products to market.”
